Anilao Show September 2012

While our gallery show has ended, we would like to thank everyone that attended.  Take a look at the gallery below to see pictures of the show!

The night of the opening, a man came up to me.  He writes a poem for every art show at the gallery.  He wrote this for me:

The Depths of the Sea

The beauty and the splendor
Of the sea
A world unlike any other
In its riches and glory

The beauty of the sponge
The mystery and mystic
Of the creatures of the deep

The magical wonders
Of life below
And the explosion of life and colors

Beautifying the sea

By The Homeless Poet

Seafari 2011

In April 2011, I had the honor of joining underwater photographers from around the world in the1st Seafari, Philippines. The event was 10 years in the making and highlighted the biodiversity of the reefs and waters surrounding the many islands of the Philippines. The concentration was on macro photography, for which Anilao was an extraordinary environment to explore, a photographer’s dream! Every dive provided numerous crabs, shrimps, nudibranchs, tropical fish and magnificent corals. We found pigmy seahorses, ghost pipefish and the find of the week, a purple lacy rhinopia.

Seafari 2011 highlighted 4 dive sites, Anilao, Bohol, Coron and Davao. The event concluded with a conference in Manila where the experiences and photos from each area were presented and the photo contest winners were acknowledged.

As an underwater photographer, this opportunity provided some of the best diving in the world. The richness of the sea life was matched by the warmth and hospitality of the Filipino people. Seafari was a magical event that left us yearning to return.
